Mary Beth Duncan, who is retiring from the Van Buren School District following the current school year, will be honored at an afternoon tea 3-5 p.m. at the Fine Arts Center at Van Buren High School. Duncan, a world history teacher at VBHS, has taught in the Van Buren School District for the past 34 years, the last 23 at the high school.

Van Buren First Assembly of God will hold its seventh annual Men’s Ministry Golf Tournament at 8 a.m. at River Valley Golf in Dyer. Proceeds will assist the VBFA kids’ Bible quiz teams going to national competition in Baltimore. Cost for the 4-man scramble is $40 per person, due in full by May 18. Entry fee includes cart, green fee and lunch. There will be two closest-to-the-pin contests. Mulligans will be available for $5 per person and are limited to two per person. June 1

Morrison Cemetery will observe decoration. Speaker will be the Rev. Alfred LaRue and soloist will be Molly Anderson of Rudy. Reflection and fellowship will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. and worship service begins at 11, followed by a business session. Proposed rules and regulations for the cemetery will be discussed.
