Dance team places in competition

<p>The dance team from the Diva Dance Studio in Van Buren recently placed in the Rainbow Dance Competition. The nine girls danced to “Everybody Wants to Rule the World,” by Lorde and took platinum for small group age 10, judges choice for best focus and third place overall. Dance team members include (front row) Kylea Pickle, Madison Trejo, Lydia Doolittle, KayteLyn Jeffress, Jacklyn Moore; (back row) Whitney Higgins, Brinn Brammer, dance studio owner/operator Parker Tounzen, Stevie Schwartz and MaKenzie Davidson.</p>
<p>KayteLyn Jeffress (right) and Jacklyn Moore (left) recently competed individually in the Rainbow Dance Competition. KayteLyn won the first-place double platinum award for the 9-11 age division and second overall in the Starz of Tomorrow solo division for her dance to “Blessings,” by Laura Story. She also received one of only two invitations to attend a week-long event in New York City. Jacklyn won second-place platinum award for her dance to “Dollhouse,” in the 9-11 age division and received a scholarship to a dance workshop in Little Rock in November. Parker Tounzen (center) is the girls’ dance teacher.</p>
