Alma Extension Homemakers Club presented Crawford County Court Appointed Special Advocates with a $300 check to help purchase Christmas gifts for the local children they represent. In addition, the club donated hand-sewn blankets to the Hamilton House Child and Family Safety Center that provides services for child victims of abuse. Participating in the check presentation were (from left) Wanda Smith, Becky Thrift, Rita Rowell, Louise Thomas, Nancy Brisher representing CASA and Hamilton House and Liz Wallace. Alma EHC is a rural club associated with the University of Arkansas Extension Office whose members give their time and talents to support worthwhile causes. Membership is open to anyone interested in genuine fellowship and generous contribution to those in need. The group meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m. at the Alma Public Library.
