Gymnast qualifies for national competition

Lauren Delnuovo, 16, of Van Buren has qualified to compete at a national gymnastics event in Boise, Idaho, May 4.

Lauren, who attends gymnastics at Didion Athletics, is a sophomore at Van Buren High School. Lauren, who has been in gymnastics since she was 7, is the daughter and stepdaughter of Rachel and Ricky Noetzol of Van Buren.

At her state meet in March, she came in first place on beam and bars, second place on vault and third place on floor. She also came in first place in the all-around.

Her all-around score qualified her to compete at regionals in Allen, Texas, April 19. There she competed against girls from Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, New Mexico, Wyoming and Colorado. She placed third on beam, fifth on vault and eighth in the all-around.

Since she placed in the top 12 she advanced to nationals.

Go to didionathletics.com. Once you get there click on member login. Under the email address enter mail@didionathletics.com. For the password enter: nationals On their left side click make a payment. Those donating should see a screen that says “Lauren’s fundraiser for Nationals 2014.” Under payment amount highlight number and enter how much you want to contribute. Click the form of payment box and hit submit.
