<p><strong>Apperson</strong></p><p>Mr. and Mrs. Fred L. Apperson of Van Buren recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to Mather Lodge on Petit Jean Mountain and a trip to the Smoky Mountains and North Carolina. They were married Aug. 16, 1963, at Reynolds Baptist Church in Little Rock by the late Rev. D.R. Harrell. Mrs. Apperson, the former Elizabeth Jeanne Lowrey of Little Rock, is a homemaker. Mr. Apperson, a native of Sapulpa, Okla., retired after 36 years as an electronic technician for Union Pacific Railroad Company. The couple have two children, Fred R.L. Apperson of Mountainburg and the late Eric Apperson, and three grandchildren.</p>

<p><strong>House</strong></p><p>Tom and Lillian House of Dyer celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Aug. 31. They were married Aug. 31, 1953, by the Rev. Turner Rogers at his residence in the Concord Community in Alma. Mrs. House is the former Lillian Porter of Dyer and is a retired nurse. Mr. House is retired from the maintenance department at Whirlpool. They have four children, Amy Posey of Dyer, Beth Raines of Mountainburg, Paul House of Weatherford, Okla., and Steve House of Hoyt Lakes, Minn., 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.</p>
