Brooke Hoffsommer, a senior at Alma High School, has been awarded a Commitment to Excellence Scholarship to attend University of the Ozarks, beginning in the fall 2014 semester. Brooke is the daughter of Tanya Hoffsommer and Chris Hoffsommer. She plans to major in education at Ozarks. Brooke also plans to compete as a member of the Lady Eagles’ softball team, which is a member of the NCAA Division III American Southwest Conference. At AHS, Brooke has played for four years on the girls’ softball team, two years on the basketball team and two years in band. She was on the school’s honor roll for four years and also served as a volunteer at the Alma Community Outreach Center. The Commitment to Excellence Scholarship is worth $10,000 per year and is awarded based on significant achievement and academic excellence in high school, combined with above average college entrance test scores.
