Building permit issued to CVS Pharmacy

A building permit has been issued to CVS Pharmacy for a store at 2015 Fayetteville Road, on the northwest corner of Rena Road and Arkansas 59 in Van Buren.

David Martin, building inspector for the City of Van Buren, told the planning commission Tuesday the building plat for three lots had been signed.

Van Buren Planning Director Joe Hurst said a pre-construction meeting with the builders is expected to be made in the coming week.

Valuation on the building permit is about $1.3 million, with Boos Development Group of Bentonville handling construction. Jimmy Bell Realty has managed the property being sold.

The location for the pharmacy is a former car lot across from Chili’s and Firehouse Subs. A former children’s day care behind the lot is being demolished.

There are no CVS Pharmacy stores in Arkansas, a customer service representative said. Nine CVS Pharmacy stores are in Oklahoma, located at Broken Arrow, Jenks, McAlester and Tulsa.
