Nineteen teams already are confirmed for the sixth annual Van Buren Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic.

The event is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 16, at Eagle Crest Golf Course in Alma.

Teams include Acme Brick, Arkhola, Arvest Bank, Bekaert, Citizens Bank & Trust Co., Cox Business, State Rep. Gary Deffenbaugh, First Community Bank, Five Star Pest Control, Hubbs-Belcher, Progressive Business Systems, River City Coating, River Valley Trading, Strategic Realty, Swaim Office Products, TEC Staffing Services, United Federal Credit Union, UPS and Western Arkansas Planning and Development District.

The four-person scramble includes 18 holes of golf, golf cart, unlimited driving range balls, lunch, goodie bags and door prizes. Cost is $300 per team.

Lyn Miller, golf committee chairman, said the tournament also will include a hole-in-one challenge, longest drive contest, putting contest, close-to-the-pin contest and $5 mulligan.

Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 16, lunch at noon and shotgun start at 1 p.m.

Presenting sponsor will be Arkansas Valley Electric Cooperative. Cox Business will be the lunch sponsor and Rhodes Chevrolet the hole-in-one sponsor.

Gary’s Collision will be a drink cart sponsor and JMR/PFP the longest drive sponsor.

Miller said sponsors are still needed for the driving range, putting contest and closest to the pin contest. A mulligan ticket sponsor is needed as well as a sponsor for the second drink card.

Hole sponsors also are available, Miller said.

Teams and sponsors may contact Janie Simmons at the chamber (479) 474-2761 or janie@vanburenchamber.org.
