A groundbreaking ceremony was held Wednesday for a new $4 million 40-bed Alzheimer’s unit at the Legacy Heights Retirement Center - operated by Landmark Ministries of Arkansas, an outreach of Van Buren First Assembly of God. Tim Hodges, executive director for Landmark Ministries, points out highlights of the new addition to Legacy Heights. Included in the 32,000 square foot expansion will be two pods with a private courtyard and 20 private studio-style apartments for Alzheimer’s patients in each pod, hair salon and spa, a centralized safe room, and an expansion of the independent living dining area.
