Holiday market set

Vendors can still sign up to be part of the holiday market at Rena Christian Church that will be held Nov. 16 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the church gymnasium.

Several rentals are still open for the inside space, which will hold about 20 booths, said Robin Wilkins, leader of the Women Of Worship group that is organizing the event.

Booths are 10 feet by 10 feet, and are $30 for inside. Unlimited spots are available outside, and cost $15, Wilkins said.

This is the first year for the event, and Wilkins - a fan of holiday markets such as this one - said the church group is holding the market as a way to be active in the community.

“We’re a small congregation and we’ve been there for 50-some-odd years, but we just want to get out into the community,” Wilkins said. Wilkins’ husband Rick is pastor for the church.

Proceeds from booth rentals will go to the WOW group to help fund activities such as providing essentials to needy kids at their locally adopted school, and with their work at the Fort Smith Crisis Intervention Center, Wilkins said.

Event organizers are looking for vendors selling hand-made holiday arts and crafts and boutique gift items, she said.

Inside spaces will be set up in the Extreme Life Center, Wilkins said. Red Rooster also will have a concession stand, she said.

Those wishing to rent a booth must sign up by Nov. 6, Wilkins said. To rent a space, contact Wilkins at (479) 462-8553 or askbr@cox.net.
