A Little Rock man was arrested Sunday, accused of kidnapping a Van Buren child.
Kenyon Warren, 29, was arrested in Little Rock on suspicion of kidnapping and transported to the Crawford County Detention Center, according to a news release issued by detective Jonathan Wear, public information officer for the Van Buren Police Department.
“Warren is the noncustodial father of the kidnapped child,” Wear said.
Van Buren police were dispatched to the 400 block of Franklin Street at around 5:25 p.m. Sunday regarding a reported kidnapping of an 8-week-old child.
“The victim’s mother advised that her ex-boyfriend, Kenyon Warren, had left with her child,” Wear said. “She advised that he had taken the child after the two had gotten into an argument.”
Van Buren police sent an alert to surrounding law enforcement agencies to be on the lookout for Warren’s black Ford F-150 pickup.
“Officers were able to make contact with Warren by phone, at which time he stated that he was en route to Little Rock,” Wear said.
Warren was located and arrested by a Little Rock agency. The child was not harmed, according to Wear.
