Pleas entered in circuit court

In the 21st Judicial District Circuit Curt in Van Buren Dec. 9, Judge Gary R. Cottrell heard pleas and sentenced the following:

• Christopher Lee Beckham, 33, of Van Buren pleaded guilty to theft by receiving and was sentenced to six years in the Arkansas Department of Correction to be followed by a 10-year suspended prison sentence. The sentence will run concurrently with a previous Crawford County sentence and he was given credit for time served.

• Carol Ann Johnson, 44, of Greenwood pleaded guilty to three counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud and had a three-year prison sentence suspended on the condition she pay a $1,000 fine and $170 court costs. Her sentence will be suspended on the completion of the Sebastian County drug court program.

• Alexander Garcia Amador, 21, of Van Buren pleaded guilty to breaking or entering and theft of property and was sentenced to four years in the Arkansas Department of Correction to be followed by a six-year suspended prison sentence on the condition he pay $739.92 restitution. The sentence will run concurrently with a parole revocation and he was given credit for time served.

• Jennifer Leann Cureton, 32, of Muldrow pleaded guilty to felon in possession of a firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia and was sentenced to six years in the Arkansas Department of Correction to be followed by a 10-year suspended prison sentence. The sentence will run concurrently with a parole revocation.

• Necolle Brooke Speaks, 23, of Van Buren pleaded guilty to fraudulent use of a credit card, fleeing on foot, six counts of second-degree forgery, residential burglary and breaking or entering and was sentenced to two years at a regional correctional facility to be followed by an eight-year suspended prison sentence on the condition she pay $838.85 restitution. She will complete the long-term drug and alcohol treatment program while in prison.
