Pleas - Jan. 25, 2014

In the 21st Judicial District Circuit Court in Van Buren Jan. 15, Judge Gary R. Cottrell heard pleas and sentenced the following:

• Andrew Drew Free, 27, of Van Buren pleaded guilty to theft of property and habitual offender and was sentenced to eight years in the Arkansas Department of Correction to be followed by a five-year suspended prison sentence. He was given credit for time served and the sentence will run concurrently with a parole violation from Sebastian County.

• Fawnia Jean Huerta, 42, of Van Buren pleaded guilty to two counts of delivery of hydrocodone and was placed in the drug court program. She will be on three years probation, submit to DNA sampling and pay the $250 fee, $160 restitution and $125 drug task force fee. A $3,500 fine, $170 court costs and $300 of a $600 drug court fee were suspended on the condition she completes the drug court program. Her driver’s license was suspended for six months.

• Jaclyn Mary Lentz, 34, of Alma pleaded guilty to obtaining a controlled substance and was placed in the drug court program. She will be on three years probation, submit to DNA sampling and pay the $250 fee and $125 drug task force fee. A $3,500 fine, $170 court costs and $300 of a $600 drug court fee were suspended on the condition she completes the drug court program. Her driver’s license was suspended for six months.

In the 21st Judicial District Circuit Court in Van Buren Jan. 16, Judge Mike Medlock heard pleas and sentenced the following:

• Charles Thomas Bagley, 52, of Van Buren pleaded guilty to subsequent offense domestic battery in the third degree and had a six-year prison sentence suspended on the condition he pay a $1,500 fine, $170 court costs and $250 fee for DNA sampling.

• Leonard Bruce Slack, 51, of Van Buren pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine, possession of hydrocodone and possession of Xanax and was placed on six years probation. He will pay a $750 fine, $170 court costs, $250 fee for DNA sampling and $125 drug task force fee. His driver’s license was suspended for six months.

• Ronnie Joe Phillips, 53, of Van Buren pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine and was sentenced to two years at a regional correctional facility to be following by a three-year suspended prison sentence. His driver’s license was suspended for six months.

• Arnold Lee McCabe Jr., 23, of Mulberry pleaded guilty to two counts of residential burglary, fleeing in a vehicle, two counts of criminal mischief, six counts of theft of property and two counts of breaking or entering and was sentenced to 10 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction to be followed by a 15-year suspended prison sentence. He will pay $9,022 restitution and was given credit for time served in the Crawford County Detention Center.

In the 21st Judicial District Circuit Court in Van Buren Jan. 17, Judge Gary R. Cottrell heard pleas and sentenced the following:

• Thadieus Lewayne Jones, 27, of Van Buren pleaded guilty to felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a defaced firearm, first-degree criminal mischief, failure to appear and habitual offender and had a 10-year prison sentence suspended on the condition he pay a $1,000 fine and $170 court courts and do 30 days of community service. The guns were ordered destroyed.
