Pleas - June 28, 2014

In the 21st Judicial District Circuit Court in Van Buren June 19, Judge Mike Medlock heard pleas and sentenced the following:

• Joshua Martin Gregory, 24, of Alma pleaded guilty to breaking and entering and was sentenced to two years at a regional correctional facility to be followed by a four-year suspended prison sentence. While in prison, he will complete the long-term drug treatment program.

• Alex Cooper Ervin, 33, of Chester pleaded guilty to delivery of oxycodone and was sentenced to two years at a regional correctional facility to be followed by an eight-year suspended prison sentence. His driver’s license was suspended for six months.

In the 21st Judicial District Circuit Court in Van Buren June 20, Judge Mike Medlock heard pleas and sentenced the following:

• Daniel William Alvis, 40, of Newton, Kan., pleaded guilty to theft of property and breaking or entering and had a six-year prison sentence suspended on the condition he pay a $1,000 fine, $170 court costs and $250 fee for DNA sampling.

• John Lee Hartman, 35, of Phoenix pleaded guilty to non-support and had a 10-year prison sentence suspended on the condition he resume child-support payments plus 10 percent, pay a $500 fine, $170 court costs and $250 fee for DNA sampling.

• David Lee Wilson, 47, of Van Buren pleaded guilty to violation of a protection order and third-degree domestic battery and had a five-year prison sentence suspended on the condition he pay a $1,500 fine, $170 court costs and $250 fee for DNA sampling.

• Ashley Calhoun-Johnson, 41, of Mulberry pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree forgery and had a 10-year prison sentence suspended on the condition she pay $650 restitution, $500 fine, $170 court costs and $250 fee for DNA sampling.

• Houston Ray Burkett, 27, of Gulfport, Miss., pleaded guilty to theft of scrap metal and breaking or entering and had a five-year prison sentence suspended on the condition he pay $11,210.08 restitution, jointly and severally, $750 fine, $170 court costs and $250 fee for DNA sampling.

• Hannah Rose Ward, 24, of Siloam Springs pleaded guilty to possession of oxycodone, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of tramadol and had a three-year prison sentence suspended on the condition she pay a $2,000 fine, $270 court costs and $250 fee for DNA sampling and complete drug court in Benton County within three years. Her driver’s license was suspended for six months.

• Mark David Drain, 24, of Stilwell pleaded guilty to theft of property and had a four-year prison sentence suspended on the condition he pay a $500 fine, $170 court costs and $250 fee for DNA sampling.

• Frank Everett Johnson, 52, of Spring, Texas, pleaded guilty to theft by deception and had a three-year prison sentence suspended on the condition he pay $1,384.19 restitution, $1,000 fine, $170 court costs and $250 fee for DNA sampling.

• John Walker Finch, 41, of Fort Smith pleaded guilty to non-support and had a five-year prison sentence suspended on the condition he pay $4,177.84 restitution, $170 court costs and $250 fee for DNA sampling and forfeit a $500 cash bond.
