Crawford County deputies are looking for two suspects in a stabbing Friday night that left one man in serious but stable condition.
A man and woman told deputies that they were approached by two white men they did not know at the Dyer Bay boat ramp at the Arkansas River sometime between 11 p.m. Friday and midnight, said Crawford County Chief Deputy Jimmy Damante.
The couple told deputies that the suspects asked for cigarettes and alcohol before demanding money. The man got into a fight with the suspects and was stabbed multiple times, Damante said.
The suspects left the scene on foot. Investigators are looking for a red and tan 80s-model GMC pickup that may or may not be the suspects’ vehicle, Damante said.
The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment with internal bleeding from a perforated liver. The woman was not injured, Damante said.
“From what I understand, he’s not likely to die,” Damante said. “But, he’s hurt pretty bad.”
The name of the man who was stabbed has been withheld pending the investigation, Damante said.
Investigators have not yet gathered descriptions on the suspects. The suspects did not appear to steal anything and no weapon was left at the scene, Damante said.
Anyone with information on the suspects or their whereabouts can call the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department at 474-2261.
