King Elementary School in Van Buren will have “Last Friday Recycle Drop-Off Days” again this year.
“We are inviting all parents, students, staff and neighboring community to participate,” said Jolie Hobbs, special education teacher at King.
It is simple, she said.
“The last Friday of the month bring your recyclables from home to school with you,” Hobbs said. “We will have a drop off location at the front of the school so all you have to do is drive through and we will get it out of your car.”
Paper should be in one bag and all the plastics in another bag, Hobbs said.
“You can also bring flattened cardboard boxes,” she said. “We will have students out front waiting to collect your recyclables. Thanks for helping us keep King green.”
Last Friday recycle dates are Aug. 30, Sept. 27, Oct. 24, Nov. 22, Dec. 20, Jan. 31, Feb. 28, March 21, April 25 and May 23.
King recycling center accepts cereal boxes, newspaper, cardboard, junk mail, magazines, phone books, paper products, grocery sacks, metal cans, aluminum cans and all plastic.
“Please rinse out all food containers and leave the plastic lids off,” Hobbs said.
