Story to be presented at VB First Baptist

The story of the Black Robed Regiment will be presented by Dan Fisher at 6 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Van Buren.

Fisher, formerly of Van Buren, will tell the amazing story of the Patriot Preachers who led the men of their congregations to fight for liberty during the Revolutionary War and who played a major role in birthing America.

Dressed in period costume, Fisher will bring the history of the Black Robed Regiment to life.

“The presentation will show how today’s church must rise up once again to defend liberty before our freedoms are lost,” Fisher said.

Fisher is the senior pastor of Trinity Baptist Church in Yukon, Okla., and a member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives.

He and his wife, the former Pamela Loftin, are both graduates of Van Buren High School. Dan Fisher taught at Van Buren Junior High School in the 1980s.
