Two women killed in car accident

Two women are dead after a single-car accident in Kibler Monday night.

The accident happened around 9:30 p.m. Monday night at the intersection of Arkansas Highway 162 and North Cedar Avenue, according to the Arkansas State Police.

Though the details of the crash, including the names of the two women killed, have not been released, a witness told news media that a red Chevrolet car crashed into boulders on a property located at the intersection.

Glen Coldiron lives on the property where the accident occurred, he told media personnel.

After coming around a sharp turn on the highway, the car drove into the boulders, Coldiron said.

The boulders had been placed there by a previous owner to prevent vehicles that failed to navigate the curve from crashing into the house, he said.

Coldiron checked the two women, who were unconscious and had weak pulses, he said. His daughter then called 911, he said.
