Bruce Peevy

Bruce Randolph Peevy, 88, of Mulberry died Monday, March 31, 2014, at his home in Mulberry. He was born Nov. 28, 1925, in Dyer, Army veteran of World War II and retired from civil service at Fort Hood Army Base in Texas. He served as a deacon at both Mountain Baptist and Live Oak Baptist churches in Gatesville and active in the Gatesville Boys Little League, where he served as a coach and umpire. He was recently inducted into the Gatesville Wall of Honor for his extended years of service to the baseball community. He was a member of Vine Prairie Baptist Church in Mulberry.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma; three daughters, Kay Rice of College Station, Texas, Pam Fuller of New Braunfels, Texas, and Paula Safarik of Taylor, Texas; three brothers, Vilus Peevy, Thell Peevy and Randall Peevy, all of Alma; six grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Mulberry Vine Prairie Baptist Church with burial at New Cemetery in Mulberry under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Alma.

Pallbearers will be Travis Fuller, Jason and Justin Rice, Bradley Louder, Andrew Jimerson and Jason Brockenbush.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
