Clarence Jay Arendall, 51, of Conway died Friday, Feb. 21, 2014. Jay was born May 14, 1962, in Abilene, Texas, to the late Clyde and Caroline (Cullen) Arendall. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Arendall.
Mr. Arendall pastored churches prior to and while attending medical school at UAMS. He practiced medicine in Alma. He went on many medical mission trips. He enjoyed genealogy and loved to travel.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Karla (Walker) Arendall of Conway; children Jayson and wife Deidre of Rudy, Caleb and wife Ashleigh of Alma, Ashley Sanders and husband Ken of Sherwood and Breigh, Levi, Cyeth and Mihala, all of the home; grandchildren, Caleigh Arendall, Willow Arendall, Luke Sanders, and Kias Arendall; and brothers, Chris Arendall and wife Pam of Texas, Ed Sigler and wife Kathy of Van Buren, Jerry Arendall of Texas and Sam Morse and wife Melissa of Oklahoma.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Friendship Baptist Church in Conway. Funeral service will be at the church at 10 a.m. Wednesday, officiated by Brother Ken Jordan. Burial will follow at New Liberty Cemetery.
A memorial fund to benefit the Arendall family has been set up at Bank of the Ozarks in the name of Ashley Sanders.
