Donald Rogers, 79, of Alma passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014. He was born Aug. 16, 1934, in Alma to the late Claude and Marguarite Rogers. He graduated from Alma High School in 1952 and attended Arkansas Tech. He worked for Dixie Cup for several years, then returned to the farm where he was raised. When not working the farm, he liked traveling the United States by motor home and camping. He was a member of Newberry Chapel United Methodist Church and Fine Springs Lodge.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, JoAnne; a daughter, Tracy Carson and husband Steve; a son, Scott Rogers and wife Tanya; and six grandchildren, Kelsey McGee, Taylor Wilson, Katie Rogers, Kaleb Taff, Hunter Carson and Taylor Carson.
His body will be cremated under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren. A family hosted memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Newberry Chapel Church in Alma.
