Herbert Woosley

Herbert “Pete” Woosley, 88, of Van Buren passed away Friday, July 18, 2014, at his home. He was born Aug. 5, 1925, in West Virginia. He was a retired welder with Whirlpool and a member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Alma. He served in the Navy during World War II and retired after 22 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma Woosley of the home; two daughters, Shirley Baxter and husband Phillip of Alma and Becky Cox and husband Jimmy of Fort Smith; four sons, Doug Woosley and wife Nancy of Barling, Mike Woosley and wife Lavonda of Fort Smith, Martin Woosley and wife Janet of Ohio and Bob Hammons and wife Sharon of Van Buren; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Family-hosted memorial was July 19 at Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Alma. Cremation was under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren.
