Imogene Franklin

Imogene Franklin, 88, of Fort Smith, formerly of Van Buren, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, in Fort Smith. She was the retired co-owner of W.B. Smith Store in Van Buren and a former employee of Ocker Monument Co. and Ocker Funeral Home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Van Buren and the Lydia Sunday School class. She was preceded in death by her husband C.J. Franklin in July of 1985.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol Henson of Rogers and Janie Garner and her husband Kerry of Van Buren; one grandson, Rusty Menke and his wife Amy of Rogers; one step-granddaughter, Tracy Garner of Little Rock; and three great-grandchildren, Rodney, Colby and Abery Menke, all of Rogers.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial in Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be R.W., Michael and Ronny Ocker and Bill and Keith Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons and their wives of First Baptist Church and the staff of Methodist Health and Rehabilitation.

The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.

Memorials may be made to either the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 1121 E. Main St., Van Buren, AR 72956 or to Mercy Hospice, 7301 Rogers Ave., Fort Smith, AR 72903.
