James Mahar

James G. “Pudgee” Mahar, 71, of Van Buren died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, in Van Buren. He was born Sept. 8, 1942, in Fort Smith, retired forklift mechanic and widower of the late Sarah Mahar.

He is survived by a daughter, Christie Darter of Van Buren; a son, James Mahar of Van Buren; a brother, Howard Mahar of Van Buren; two sisters, Sharon Stringer and Nancy Sexton, both of Fort Smith; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at The Salvation Army Chapel with burial at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith.

Pallbearers will be Michael and Anthony Mahar, David Brixey, Mike Stec, Tom Wald and Tom Ahlert.

Visitation will be 5:30-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Viewing will start at noon.
