Larry E. Dixon, 79, of Van Buren died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, in Fort Smith. He was born Aug. 6, 1934, in Yates Center, Kan., to the late Carl and Katherine Dixon. He was a retired regional production manager for Acme Brick in Fort Smith and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella Dixon; and his son, Wade Dixon.
He is survived by two daughters, Mischelle Merrywell and her husband Steve of Fort Smith and Mary Bittle and her husband Chris of Azle, Texas; a sister, Peggy Ferree of Yates Center, Kan.; seven grandchildren, Eric Dixon, Heather Polk and her husband Dave, Hannah Watson and her husband Josh, Chris Merrywell, Robyn Brashier and her husband Thomas, Adam Bittle and Chad Bittle; three great-grandchildren, Brayden Polk, Greyson Polk and Noah Merrywell.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. today at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel. Ashes will be interred at Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
