Lauralea Cox, 65, of Alma, formerly of Gilmore, Texas, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at a local nursing home. She was a retired social worker for several hospitals including the Good Shepherd Medical Center and the Texas Oncology Cancer Center in Longview, Texas, and a member of the Jesus Christ Church of Latter Day Saints in Alma. She was born Nov. 16, 1948, in Mulberry.
She is survived by her husband, Clifton; two daughters, Tasha Bius of Huntsville, Texas, and Virginia Dale of Longview; a son, Ed Cox of Longview; a stepdaughter, Deborah Johnson of Hot Springs; two stepsons, Michael Cox of Arlington, Texas, and Benny Cox of Alma; three sisters, Thelma Joyce of Dyer, Sue Franklin of Van Buren and Eugenia Berry of Hackett; a brother, Charles Belt of Jefferson, Texas; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Ocker Chapel of Alma with burial at Dyer Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kevin and Dustin Yates, Kris, Kolby and Alan Cox and Billy Garner.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
