Norma Gregory

Mrs. Norma Ruth Peevy Gregory, 84, of Alma died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at a local hospital. She was a homemaker, attended Butterfield Assembly of God in Van Buren and was also a devoted mother, grandmother and caregiver. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buell Gregory; a daughter, Sharon Peevy; and three brothers, Darrell, Don and C.J. Newton.

She is survived by a daughter, Kim Peters and her husband Lester of Fort Smith; two stepdaughters, Peggy Wood of Van Buren and Carol Miller of Jonesboro; a son, Garry Peevy and his wife Cindy of Fort Smith; two stepsons, Defton Gregory of Rogers and Clifton “Butch” Gregory of Muskogee, Okla.; three sisters, Severta Parks of Pleasant Hill, Calif., Yivy Tinney of Kibler and Sue Bowen of Van Buren; 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Bolton Cemetery in Alma under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be Lester Peters, Brandon Peters, Tim Wood, Jamie Wood, Breck Childers and Defton Gregory.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren.
