Nannie Breeden

Nannie Mae Breeden, 98, of Van Buren passed away Friday, July 5, 2013, at a local hospital. She was a Press Argus reporter and a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Breeden; her parents, Samuel and Georgia Kunkel; five sisters, Lillie DeLozier, Ima Wehunt, Genie Kunkel, Belle Goff and Elsie Kunkel; and five brothers Dewey, Oliver, Johnny and Sammy Kunkel and Luther Kemp.

She is survived by her daughter, Patsy Ann Staggs of Van Buren; one son, Jerry and his wife Betty Breeden of Van Buren; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral was July 9 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Macedonia Cemetery in Uniontown.

Pallbearers were Hovert Berry, Bobby Goodwin, Steve Greenwood, Mallory Gallagher, Raymond Dodd and Carl Dollard.

Honorary pallbearers were Mark Staggs, Brian Staggs, Jeremy Greenwood, Ralph Junior Gilstrap, Tommy Gamble and James Breeden.

Dennis Whitson

Dennis R. Whitson II, 92, of Mulberry died Friday, July 5, 2013, in Fayetteville. He was born Feb. 15, 1921, in Ozark. He was a member of Rehobeth Missionary Baptist Church, ordained Missionary Baptist minister, World War II veteran, recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star and a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps.

Funeral at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith is pending under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; two daughters, Laura and Teresa Whitson of Mulberry; two sisters, Paulette Booth of Fort Smith and Anna Jackson of Mulberry; two brothers, Glenn Whitson of Mulberry and Bob Whitson of Ozark; and a grandchild.

Lori Palafox

Lori A. Landers Palafox, 44, of Van Buren died Wednesday, July 3, 2013, in Fort Smith. She was born Jan. 27, 1969, in Los Angeles. She was a homemaker.

Graveside service was July 8 at Gill Cemetery Pavilion in Van Buren under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith.

She is survived by two daughters, Tiffiney Tabor and Destiney Palafox, both of Alma; two sons, Dekota Carlile of Barling and Daniel Palafox of Alma; father, Jimmy Landers of Van Buren; a sister, Jamie Landers of Fort Smith; two brothers, Jody Landers of Dora and James Landers of Van Buren; and four grandchildren.

Margie Cagle

Margie Cagle, 73, of Alma passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013, in a local hospital. She was a pharmacy tech for Walmart and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess Powell and Martha Muck Shelton; and a daughter, Kenda Lou Cagle.

Graveside service and burial was July 5 at New Cemetery in Mulberry under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Alma.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Cagle of the home; two daughters, Kim Dillard and husband Brad of Springdale and Marla Keady and husband Steven of Alma; two sisters, Sunny Brasuell of Van Buren and Marilyn Rogers of Fort Smith; and grandchildren, Jenna Dillard and Colin Keady.

Grace Reinschmiedt

Grace Elizabeth Reinschmiedt, 70, of Fort Smith died Monday, July 8, 2013, at a local nursing home. She was a homemaker and a member of Gospel Assembly Church of Fort Smith. She was born March 11, 1943 in Van Buren.

She is survived by her husband, Earl; two daughters, Sheila DeHart of Alma and Vickie Ledford of Fort Smith; a son, Phillip Reinschmiedt of Mountainburg; two sisters, Flora Ellen Cole of Fort Smith and Jackie Dale of Alma; five brothers, Joe Evans, Ides Evans, Donny Evans and Donald Leakey, all of Alma, and Richard Leakey of Dyer; 11 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Ocker Chapel of Alma withburial at Newberry Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Kennedy, Russell, Timothy and Matthew Pryor, Andrew Jones and James Peck. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
