Roy Rogers Sr.

Roy Wallace Rogers Sr., 61, of Van Buren died Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at a local hospital. He was a retired truck broker for Ozark Truck Broker in Van Buren.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; four daughters, Connie Seymour, Betty Weindel and Christie Rogers-Ross, all of Van Buren, and Kimberly Burnett of Kibler; two sons, Roy Rogers Jr. and Jerry Rogers, both of Van Buren; a sister, Louise Hunter of Uniontown; two brothers, Bill Rogers of Alma and Troy Rogers of Kibler; and 22 grandchildren.

Graveside service was April 26 at Gracelawn Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

Pallbearers were Johnny Neidecker, Ronny Semour, Bill and Charles Rogers Jr., Johnny Rosales, Kody Evans and Christian Voth.

Donald Rose

Donald J. Rose, 78, of Mountainburg died Wednesday, April 24, 2013, in Bella Vista. He was a foreman in the masonry construction industry, Navy veteran of the Korean War and member of the Pigeon Creek Freewill Baptist Church and Florida Trowel Trades Union. He was born Oct. 19, 1934, in French Lick, Ind.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Rose; three daughters, Jo Ann Allen of Mountainburg, Donna Allen of Bella Vista and Connie Dederian of Jupiter, Fla.; three sisters, Betty Duncan of De Funiak Springs, Fla., and Patsy Rose and Nancy Perette, both of Williston, S.C.; three brothers, Robert Rose of Jenson Beach, Fla., Dale Rose of Cleveland, Tenn., and Romey Rose of Williston; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service with military honors will be 10 a.m. today at Locke Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.

Pallbearers will be Devin Brumley, Jamie Allen, Tim Pense, David Tannehill, Mike Harrison and Gary Smith.

Patricia Slater

Patricia Carole Slater, 75, of Van Buren died Thursday April 25, 2013, at her home. She was born Jan. 27, 1938, in Fort Smith and worked in the craft industry in Minnesota and Wisconsin and with the developmentally disabled in Fort Smith.

Cremation was under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren. No service is scheduled.

She is survived by six children, Elisabeth Brooks, Stephen Slater, Gregory Slater, Jeffery Slater, Jennifer Slater and Zachary Slater, and seven grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Rick Taber

Richard (Rick) William Taber, 54, of North Little Rock, died Monday, April 22, 2013. Taber was a former reporter for the Press Argus-Courier.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Little Rock Funeral Home.

Jimmy McCain

Jimmy McCain, 69, of Roland died Thursday, April 25, 2013, at a local hospital. He was a retired truck driver.

Cremation was under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren. No service is scheduled.

He is survived by his companion, Harriet Holland of Van Buren; a daughter, Stephanie Dolan of Sparks, Nev.; three sons, James, Mark and Bryon McCain, all of of Fortuna, Calif.; a sister, Loretta Pistella of Sacramento; and six grandchildren.
