Robert E. “Bob” Jones, 83, of Van Buren died Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at a local hospital. He was a salesman for John Morrell Co. and a member of Heritage United Methodist Church in Van Buren.
Cremation and burial at Gracelawn Cemetery are under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Martha; two daughters, Gail Gregory of Arkansas City, Kan., and Sherrill Dudley of Claremore, Okla.; a son, Richard Jones of Arkansas City; a sister, Alice Coble of Camden; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Denton Stringer, 80, of Van Buren died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, in Fort Smith. He was born May 1, 1932, in Magnolia, retired farmer and employee of Allen Canning, member of Uniontown Assembly of God and widower of Helen Stringer.
He is survived by two daughters, Roberta Robertson of Fort Smith and Mary Kuykendall of Uniontown; two sisters, Mary Jane Place of Fort Smith and Faye Henley of Visalia, Calif.; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial service was Aug. 26 at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith.
David M. McAllister, 55, of Fort Smith died Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at a local hospital. He was an electrician missile facilities specialist, retired from the Air Force after 21 years and born Aug. 11, 1958, in Alma.
He is survived by a daughter, Samantha Smith of Fort Smith; a son, Douglas McAllister of Van Buren; five sisters, Debbie Donaldson of Van Buren, Teresa Colley of Alma, Sandra Perryman of Greenwood, Gayle Jaskowiak of Little Rock and Lisa McAllister of Fort Smith; two brothers, Johnny McAllister of Fort Smith and Jerry McAllister of Muldrow; and one grandchild.
Funeral will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Ocker Chapel in Alma with burial at U. S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith with military honors. Pallbearers will be the Air Force honor guard. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Sheila Sue Nagy, 69, of Alma died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at a local hospital. She was a retired secretary at Fort Chaffee and Fort Sill, former receptionist for Dentures Today in Alma and of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by a daughter, Stacey Lockhart of Van Buren; a stepson, Steve Nagy of Belton, Texas; two brothers, Corky McAdams of Okmulgee, Okla., and Michael McAdams of Edmond, Okla.; and two grandchildren.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Corky and Michael McAdams, Jim, Tim and Andy Lockhart and Ed Nagy.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Craig Robert Duck, 61, of Mulberry died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at his home. He was a retired truck driver for the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department. He was born Jan. 6, 1952, in Medina, Ohio.
A family-held memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Ozark View Chapel Church in Mulberry. Cremation is under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
He is survived by his wife, Jan; a daughter, Stacie McLeroy of Rogers; two sons, Shawn Duck of Ohio and Joseph Duck of Mulberry; two sisters, Jody Steyer and Kelly Kimble, both of Ohio; and numerous grandchildren.
