Jennifer Nichols

Jennifer Lynn Nichols, 25, of Mulberry died Friday, May 24, 2013, at her home. She was born Dec. 28, 1987, in Fort Smith to Steven and Tena Nichols. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her mother, Tena Boyd Nichols.

She is survived by her fiance Dustin Davis of the home; three daughters, Leah Ramey, Landyn Ramey and Brooklynn Davis, all of the home; a son, Christian Snider of the home; her father, Steven Nichols of Mountainburg; four sisters, Jessica Case of Mountainburg, Amber Belt of Alma, Felecia Shaw of Van Buren and Billie Nichols of Fort Smith; her paternal grandparents, Bill and Juanita Oldham of Van Buren; and her maternal grandmother, Laura Boyd of Fort Smith.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be Steven Nichols, Dustin Davis, Jamey Releford, Dusty Jamison, Forest Russell and Michael Nichols.

The family will visit with friends 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren.

Mary Friday

Mary Belle Symonds Friday, 80, of Van Buren passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2013, in Van Buren. She was born Nov. 5, 1932, in the Bond Special Community to Homer and Belle Symonds. She graduated from Van Buren High School and was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Bond Special Extension Homemakers Club and White Shrine and was a pianist at various churches. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W.T. Friday; three brothers, Victor, Melbourne and Carl Symonds; and a sister, Myrna Symonds.

She is survived by two daughters, Alice Horton and husband Bill of Fort Smith and Bethany Taylor and husband Richard of Van Buren; a son, Teddy Shrader and wife Mary of Van Buren; a sister-in-law, Pansy Symonds of Van Buren; five grandchildren, William Horton, Schuyler Baker, Amanda Miller, Richard Taylor II and Justin Taylor; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. today at Heritage United Methodist Church in Van Buren with interment to follow at Oliver Springs Cemetery north of Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be William Horton, William Miller, D.R. Symonds, J.C. Symonds, Joe Parrish, and Spencer Oliver. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of Crawford Healthcare & Rehab.

Memorial contributions may be made to the activities fund of Crawford Healthcare and Rehab, 2010 Main St., Van Buren, AR 72956.

Kyle LaRue

Kyle Wayne LaRue, 55, of Dyer passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013, at a local hospital. He was a elementary teacher for Cedarville and a professional beekeeper. He was a member of Wood Memorial Christian Church in Van Buren.

He is survived by his parents, Alfred and Norma LaRue of Van Buren; two sisters, Sherry Poor and husband Michael of Dardenelle and Sheila Wells and husband Jimmy of Cedarville; one brother, Darrell LaRue and wife Cyndi of Fort Smith; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Grandview Assembly of God Church in Natural Dam with burial at Prairie Grove Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be D. Ray Wagner, Jonathan Wells, David Hamilton, Damian Hernandez, Delmer Watkins and Atha Lamar.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Wells, Jeremy Wells, Ted Wells, Larry Gregory, Benny Westphal, Mike Wells and Allen Powell.

Bill Blasingame

Bill Blasingame, 68, of Van Buren died Monday, May 27, 2013, at his home. He was born Aug. 24, 1944, in Searcy and was a retired construction worker.

He is survived by his wife, Veneta; a daughter, Rhonda Webber of Kibler; a son, Roger Blasingame of Van Buren; a sister, Betty Horton of Van Buren; two brothers, Earl Blasingame of Roland and Jim Blasingame of Mulberry; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside service was May 30 at the Hall Cemetery in Natural Dam under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

Veronica Webb

Veronica M. “Ronnie” Webb, 94, of Mulberry died Sunday, May 26, 2013, at her home. She was born April 13, 1919, in New Britain, Conn., to the late Stanley and Valeria Zdun. She was a homemaker and was known as the matriarch of the Georgia Ridge area of Crawford County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Webb.

She is survived by a sister, Joanne Coles of East Granby, Conn.

Mrs. Webb will be cremated under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

A family hosted memorial service was May 31 at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith.

Elwood Morrison

Elwood Vernon Morrison, 76, of Mountainburg died Monday, May 27, 2013, in Fort Smith. He was born March 22, 1937, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late George and Helen Morrison. He was a retired chief petty officer with the U.S. Coast Guard and a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by a son, George Morrison of Mountainburg; three granddaughters, Cierra Morrison, Tareyn Morrison and Kira Morrison; and a great-granddaughter, Eva Hickey.

Mr. Morrison will be cremated under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR with ashes to be scattered at sea.

James Rye

James Lee Rye, 47, of Mountainburg died Tuesday, May 28, 2013, in Fayetteville. He was born July 18, 1965, in Lompoc, Calif., was a truck driver and served in the Marine Corps.

He is survived by his parents, Joe and Geneva Rye of Mountainburg; and a brother, Danny Rye of Mountainburg.

Cremation was under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

Michael Moon

Michael Moon, 70, of Van Buren died Tuesday, May 28, 2013, in Muskogee. He was born Nov. 20, 1942, in San Diego, Calif., to the late Ben and Ruth Moon. He was a retired truck driver and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Honey Moon, and a brother Buddy Moon.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Moon of the home; a daughter, Dawn Bambrick of Anaheim, Calif.; three sisters, Molly Bowling and Melinda Burro, both of Van Buren, and Stella Smith of Muskogee; two brothers, Benton Moon of Van Buren and Wake Moon of Ozark; and two grandchildren, Garhett and Ashley Bambrick of Anaheim.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

The Patriot Guard will serve as pallbearers.

The family will visit with friends 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren.

Brandon Tanner

Brandon Tanner, 37, of Warner, Okla., died Thursday, May 30, 2013, in Muskogee. He was born Sept. 4, 1975, in Fort Smith and was a cook.

He is survived by his wife, A.J. Tanner of Fort Smith; a daughter, Breanna Tanner of Fort Smith; a son, Braden Tanner of Fort Smith; his parents, Doris Tanner of Van Buren and James and Karen Tanner of Fort Smith, two sisters, Stephanie Ward of Van Buren and Kimberly Billings of Southaven, Miss.; three brothers, Bobby Tanner and Blake Tanner, both of Van Buren, and Brett Winborn of Alma; and his paternal grandmother, Opal Tanner of Lincoln, Ark.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
