Michael Keller

Michael Alan “Blaze” Keller, 47, of Van Buren died Thursday, April 25, 2013, in Van Buren. He was born Dec. 5, 1965, in Fort Smith. He was the captain of the District 6 Fire Department, a 20-year plus volunteer firefighter, a member of BACA, a licensed barber, a licensed gunsmith and a certified open diver. He was certified through the Arkansas Fire Academy as a first responder, search and rescue, hazardous materials and wildfire suppression. He retired from Hickory Springs in Fort Smith after 16 years.

He is survived by two daughters, Michaela Higgins and husband Jacy of Alma and Kimberlyn Keller of Alma; two sons, Zachary Keller of Van Buren and Mackennon Keller of Fort Smith; his father, Alton Keller and companion Crickett of Van Buren; his mother, Earlene Shaddy and companion Big Mike of Van Buren; a brother, Stuart Keller and wife Keri of Fort Smith; four grandchildren and three nephews.

Funeral service was April 30 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Chapel with interment at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

George Adams Jr.

George Henry Adams Jr., 80, of Cedarville died Wednesday, April 24, 2013, in Cedarville. He was an independent truck driver.

Cremation was under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren. No service is scheduled.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; two daughters; five sons; two stepdaughters, Kim Huffstetler of Lavaca and Kelly Hansson of Fort Smith; and one stepson, Cullen Gardenhire of Muskogee.

Marie Cowan

Marie Cowan, 85, of Van Buren died Friday, April 26, 2013, in Van Buren. She was born Dec. 10, 1927, in Heavener. She was a homemaker.

Funeral was April 30 at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with burial at Howe Cemetery.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Crysler of Clare, Mich., and Karen Davis of Heavener; a son, Johnny Cowan of Fort Smith; a brother, Floyd Widmar of Hodgen, Okla.; seven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Sandra Darrah

Sandra M. Darrah, 67, of Van Buren, formerly of Wayne County, Iowa, died Thursday, April 25, 2013, in Van Buren. She was a retired real estate agent in Iowa.

Cremation was under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren. No service is scheduled.

She was survived by one brother, Mike Payne of Van Buren; and her stepmother, Cledia Payne of Van Buren.

Charles Montgomery

Charles Montgomery, 74, of Van Buren died Thursday, April 25, 2013, at a local hospital. He was a farmer and a lifelong resident of Crawford County.

Memorial graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Gill Cemetery Arbor in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; two sons, Eric Montgomery of Van Buren and Charles Montgomery of Kibler; a sister, Betty Isaacs of Stilwell, Okla.; and two grandsons.
