Phyllis A. Morton, 62, of Mountainburg died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at a local hospital. She was a bookkeeper for Disrict No. 3 Mountainburg Fire Department, member of the Van Buren First Baptist Church and lifetime member of FFA.
Cremation was under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren. No service is scheduled.
She is survived by a daughter, Missy Kerr of Mountainburg; two sisters, Carolyn Brewer and Jonnie White, both of Van Buren; two brothers, Jim Eoff of Barling and Danny Eoff of Mountainburg; her stepmother, Mary Eoff of Fort Smith; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Michael L. Brecher, 68, of Fort Smith died Monday Sept. 9, 2013, at a local hospital. He was a self-employed auto mechanic.
Memorial service was Sept. 13 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine; two daughters, Michaele Edwards of the home and Leslie Cardwell of Crownsville, Md.; a son, Robert McFarland of Hutchinson, Kan.; a brother, Gary Bowers of Gladstone, Ore.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Dwight Holmes Faldon Sr., 84, of Van Buren died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, in Hot Springs. He was born Aug. 3, 1929, in Fort Smith. He was retired from Union Pacific and was an Air Force veteran.
Graveside service was Sept. 12 at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; four daughters, Yolanda Mullis, Gayle Williams and Twanna Bollinger, all of Van Buren, and Angie Brewer of Cedarville; two sons, Jeff and Dwight Faldon Jr., both of Van Buren; three brothers, Marvin Faldon of Plano, Texas, Don Faldon of Van Buren and Ralph Faldon of Alma; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Marguriette Lanell Ward, 78, of Barling died Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, in Tulsa. She was born June 2, 1935, in Rector. She was a homemaker and a member of Fort Smith Seventh-day Adventist Church and Central Extensions.
Memorial service will be 3 p.m. today at Fort Smith Seventh-day Adventist Church under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith. The body will be cremated.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin; a daughter, Kayla Hamilton of Fort Smith; three sons, Carey Ward of Conway, Stanley Ward of San Antonio, Texas, and Keith Ward of Rudy; two sisters, Shirley Oliver of Troy, Mo., and Carol Clark of Warrenton, Mo.; two brothers, Jerry Wilson of Foristell, Mo., and Brian Wilson of Raymondville, Mo.; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Owen Odell, 77, of Van Buren died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, in Fort Smith. He was born Feb. 11, 1936, in Hulbert, Okla., and was a retired general contractor.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; a daughter, Victoria of Broken Arrow; a son, Michael of Van Buren; two brothers, Steven and Jim Odell of Hulbert; and four grandchildren.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. today at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Chapel. The body was cremated.

Gerald William Snyder, 66, of Mulberry died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, his home. He was a retired carpenter, Army veteran of the Vietnam War and of the Baptist faith. He was born Aug. 1, 1947, in Geniva County, Ohio.
A family-held graveside memorial service will be 2 p.m. today at Mt. McCurry Cemetery in Rudy. Cremation is under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
Survivors include his with, Anita; a daughter, Jonna Beth Shields of Alma; two sons, Vincent Wade Snyder of Mulberry and Gregory Brandon Snyder of Cedarville; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Robert James “Bob” Bruns, 60, of Van Buren died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, in Fort Smith. He was born Oct. 10, 1952, in Fort Smith and was a concrete finisher.
He is survived by his wife, Robin Bruns of Alma; two daughters, Sara Putman of Alma and Jessie Beller of Mountainburg; a son, Samuel Bruns of Benton; two sisters, Imelda Jackson of Bedford, Texas, and Bethany Perry of Alma; a brother, Tony Bruns of Van Buren; and six grandchildren.
Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
A family hosted memorial service will be 6 p.m. Monday at the Alma Community Center.
Viola Belcher, 68, of Van Buren died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at her home. She was a manager at The Salvation Army store in Van Buren and member of the Pentecostal Jesus Name Church in Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, John; a daughter, Melinda Stone of Van Buren; three sons, Johnny Belcher of Fort Smith, Michael Belcher of Van Buren and Brian Belcher of Muldrow; a brother, Pete Sharp of Mountainburg; five grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Leslie, Danny, Dennis and Leslie Adams Jr. and Edgar and John Wesley Belcher.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
