James William McCutcheon, 68, of Chester died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at his home. He was a rancher and attended the Family Worship Center in Van Buren. He was born Jan. 8, 1945, in Fort Smith.
A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date. The body was cremated under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannie; a daughter, Heather Chapman of Keota, Okla.; five sons, James McCutcheon Jr. and Billy McCutcheon, both of Fort Smith, James Edward McCutcheon of Pocola, Douglas McCutcheon of Cedarville and Jeffery McCutcheon of Mansfield; two sisters, Nelda Wilkerson of Rudy and Charlotte Jones of Fort Smith; a brother, Robert Biggerstaff of Lavaca; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Velta Fern Hopkins, 92, of Van Buren died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, in Fort Smith. She was born June 24, 1921, in Mulberry. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Alma, retired employee of Fort Smith School Systems and the widow of Bob Hopkins.
She is survived by a daughter, Nora Womack of Alma; a son, Bobby Hopkins of Fort Smith; a brother, Paul House of Alma; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was Sept. 16 at Forest Park Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith.
Pallbearers were Jerry House, Bill Hall, Dale Parks, Wayne Pierson and George and Tony Hopkins.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the American Legion Post 31 Ladies Auxiliary.
Raymond Eugene Beckham, 77, of Kibler died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at his home. He was born Aug. 18, 1936, in Van Buren and was retired from Kay Chair Co.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma; a son, Rodney Beckham of Mountainburg; two daughters, Ramona Warren of Alma and Melanie Jeffcoat of Kibler; and a brother, Larry Beckham of Van Buren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Bill Hixon, Bill and Gary Carter, Stan Beckham, Rick Kimes, Reid Ridenou, Lloyd Overby and Cleofus Limon.
Viewing will be 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Richard “Dicky” Zellers, 67, of Fort Smith died Sept. 11, 2013, in Fort Smith. He was born May 31, 1946, in Lisbon, Ohio. He was the owner of the Fort Smith Country Club and Zellers Construction.
He is survived by his wife, Mar-Lyn; two daughters, Jennifer Weaver of Memphis and Tara Crabtree of Little Rock; a sister, Sandy Gregory of Van Buren; and four grandchildren.
Graveside service was Sept. 16 at Forest Park Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
