Rick Goodson

Rick Goodson, 57, of Van Buren died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, in Van Buren. He was born May 9, 1956, in Fort Smith. He was a former employee of Federal Coach.

He is survived by a daughter, Leah Goodson of Fort Smith; a son, Richard Goodson Jr. of Oklahoma; two brothers, B.J. Goodson of Van Buren and Dennis Goodson of Denver; and eight sisters, Wanda Chappell and Rita Harris, both of Fort Smith, Doris Hall of Sand Springs, Okla., Brenda Henderson and Connie Bedwell, both of Van Buren, Sandra Smith of Greenwood, Cheryl Eubanks of Russellville and Sabrina Duncan of Barling.

Funeral was Sept. 6 at Gill Cemetery Pavilion in Van Buren under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith.

Pallbearers were John and Derek Duncan, Brad Harris and Anthony Greenwood.

Gerald Lanegan

Gerald Lee Lanegan, 63, of Cave City died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, in Batesville. He was born Dec. 26, 1949, in Caraway and of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his mother, Dorthie Linton of Cave City; a sister, Joyce Allgood of Mountainburg; and a brother, Billy Brooks.

Funeral was Sept. 6 at Ocker Chapel in Alma with burial at Pope Cemetery in Mulberry.

Pallbearers were R.C., Carl, Caroll, Tom and Lyodd Hamilton, James Garidan and David Linton.

Walter Willert

Walter Edward Willert, 46, of Van Buren, formerly of Mulberry, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, in Van Buren. He was born April 2, 1967, in Peoria, Ariz. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and was an auto tech.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith.

He is survived by two daughters, Ashlie Palmer of Stigler and Michele Willert of North Carolina; three brothers, Erv Willert of Mulberry, Tom Flores of Fresno, Calif., and Slade Willert of Missouri; a sister, Angie Breedlove of Oklahoma City; and two grandchildren.

Alexander Williams

Alexander Lee Williams, infant son of Danna Garcia and Alex Williams of Fort Smith, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, in Little Rock.

Graveside service was Sept. 6 at Washington Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

He also is survived by six sisters, Juana Ortiz, Mykayla Miears, Rosa and Patricia Garcia, Elisa Lopez and Aiyana Jackson, all of Fort Smith; two brothers, Jose Garcia and Nehemiah Jackson, both of Fort Smith; maternal grandparents, Colleen Newman and Daniel Miears; and paternal grandmother, Crystal Williams.

Patsy Skelton

Patsy Ann Skelton, 71, of Van Buren, formerly of Fort Smith, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at a local nursing home. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by a son, Chad Estes of Van Buren; a sister, Janet Motes of Van Buren; and a granddaughter.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Forest Park Cemetery in Fort Smith.

Pallbearers will be Joe Berry, Randy Hall, Ronnie Fryday and Ronnie Fryday Jr.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Kathy Brown

Kathy Brown, 67, of Van Buren died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, in Fort Smith. She was born Aug. 30, 1946, in Mendota, Ill. She was a retired employee of System Scales and widow of Ron Brown.

She is survived by a sister, Donna Barnes of Pocola; and two half sisters, Patty and Robin of Benton.

Memorial service will be 1 p.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith.

C. Patrick Ward III

C. Patrick Ward III, 74, of Kibler died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at his home. He was owner and operator of Ward’s Specialties Sales, member of the 188th Air National Guard serving in the Berlin Crisis and a Pentecostal.

Memorial service with military honors will be 10 a.m. Sept. 14 at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren.

He is survived by a son, Barry Ward of Van Buren; a sister, Ann Stokes of Marshfield, Mo.; four brothers, Mike Ward of Hendersonville, Tenn., Jerry Ward of Providence, R.I., Charles Ward of Springfield, Mo., and John Ward of San Antonio, Texas; and a grandchild.
