Thomas Wazelle

Thomas William Wazelle Sr., 86, of Van Buren died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, in Van Buren. He was born Aug. 6, 1927, in Smithers, W.Va., and was retired as a heavy cutter from Harding Glass in Fort Smith. He was a graduate of Fort Smith High School, member of United Methodist Church in Kibler and Navy veteran who served in the Pacific Theatre. He was a recipient of the Victory, American Campaign and Asiatic Pacific Campaign medals and widower of Betty Wazelle.

Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren. Graveside service will be noon at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith.

He is survived by a daughter, Constance Brown of Van Buren; two sons, Thomas Wazelle Jr. of Alma and Andrew Wazelle of Glasgow, Ky.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
