Tony Edwards

Tony Edwards, 45, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, in Fort Smith. He was born June 28, 1968, in Ozark to Jeannie and Dale Edwards. He was of the Baptist faith. He worked for the City of Fort Smith Parks Department. He was preceded in death by a sister, Angela Kay Edwards; and grandparents, Betty and Bill Johnston and Wilburn Thrift.

He is survived by his parents, Jeannie and George Hester of Fort Smith and Dale and Margaret Edwards of Van Buren; a sister, Casey Edwards of Vian; two brothers, Scott Edwards and his wife Farrah of Van Buren and Roger Edwards and his wife Jane of Illionois; three stepsisters, Debbie Gaston and her husband Larry of Lawrence, Kan., Stephanie Maddox of Fort Smith and Amanda Stokes and her husband Steven of Hartford; two stepbrothers, Mark Hester and his wife Kelly of Coffeyville, Kan., and Terry Sampley and his wife Sokunna of Van Buren; and grandparents, Ethel Thrift of Alma, Dorothy O’Brian of Hartford and Minia Henry of Van Buren.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. today at Freedom Freewill Baptist Church in Alma with burial to follow at Bolton Cemetery in Dean Springs Community under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Allen, Darrell Henry, Allen Nordin, Glenn Nordin, Bill Brown Jr. and Frank Wynn.
