Tressie Pauline Morrison, 99, of Van Buren passed away Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, at a local nursing home. She was born on Dec. 8, 1913, to May Brammer Mathews and Grover Mathews of the 88 Community in Crawford County. She was a homemaker and was a member of Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church in Van Buren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlie Morrison; her son, Don Morrison; her parents, Grover and May (Brammer) Mathews; three sisters and one brother.
Funeral service was Nov. 8 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with the Rev. Jimmy Morrison and V.C. Winters officiating. Burial was at Gracelawn Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
She is survived by one daughter, Phyllis Swaim and husband Charles of Van Buren; four grandchildren, Larry Swaim and wife Drenda of Van Buren, Michael Morrison of Fort Smith, Dana Winters and husband Steve of Alma and Melissa Burrows and husband Gearld of Van Buren; six great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Steve Winters, V.C. Winters, Larry Swaim, Michael Morrison, Aubrey Mathews and Bub Hunter.
