Cedarville grabbed a split at Green Forest and Mountainburg swept Decatur in conference contests on Monday.

Cedarville (5-5) rallied at the top of the seventh to tie up the game, but Green Forest scored in the bottom of the frame to grab the first win, 4-3, of the doubleheader.

Cedarville’s Corey Fincher shutout Green Forest over the final four innings and gave Cedarville room to rally back and clinch the nightcap, 6-5.

Fincher threw another complete game with 140 pitches with six walks and 10 strikeouts for the.

Green Forest built an early 5-1 lead after scoring three runs in the third inning.

Cedarville climbed back into the game scoring three runs in the fifth. Logan Wheeler had a RBI double and Justin Shelly drove in another run with a single during that frame.

Andrew Hernandez began the rally with his hit, but an error allowed Cedarville reach home to tie up the game. Shawn Rowton execute a squeeze-play bunt to give Cedarville the game-winning run.

Rowton provided the first score of the game when he scored on Alex Cantrell’s sacrifice bunt at the top of the third.

Green Forest 4, Cedarville 3

Cedarville was one strikeout away from winning the first game, but Green Forest rapped out a double in the bottom of the seventh and drove in a run to avoid extra innings.

Garrett Parson had a two-run home run at the top of the frame to tie up the game. Cedarville scored on an error in the fifth.

Korbin Polly threw for 5 1/3 innings with 10 strikeouts, six walks, three hits and three runs. Wheeler came in relief for Cedarville.

Mountainburg

The Dragons (3-3 overall, 3-1 2A-4) defeated Decatur 10-0 in both games on Monday.

Lonnie Campbell won the first game and Dakoda Volk was the winning pitcher in the second game.

Elijah Wilson led Mountainburg. He scored three times in the first game and scored twice in the second contest.

Mountainburg faces Hartford on Friday.
