Cedarville grabbed a sweep Tuesday night at home during Spring Break.
The Pirates shut out Gentry 2-0 in the opener and broke the tie in the bottom of the seventh to win the nightcap 9-8.
Travis Shelly had a base hit with one out in the seventh to drive in Corey Fincher to clinch the win in the second game.
Fincher also grabbed the win by going the distance with 13 strikeouts and 140 pitches. He gave up four hits, six walks and four earned runs.
The Pirates trailed most of the game as Gentry led 7-5 at the top of the sixth. Andrew Hernandez tied up the game with a two-run double after Gentry’s pitcher loaded up the bases with a trio of walks. Bo Franklin then gave the Pirates its first lead, 8-7, of the game with a single that brought home another run.
Logan Wheeler had RBI double in the fifth and Garrett Parson manufactured a run in the fourth. Parson reached first on a fielder’s choice, stole two bases and scored from third on a passed ball.
Gentry led 4-0 in the first, but Cedarville answered with a Fincher RBI double and two runs were scored on a passed ball.
Gentry did most of its damage up front scoring four runs in the first and two in the second to go up 6-3. Gentry added additional runs in the fifth and seventh innings.

Polly grabbed another win as he scattered five hits over seven innings and tossed 92 pitches with 16 strikeouts in the first game.
Shelly was 2 for 3 with a RBI. Polly hit a double and Parson brought Polly home with a sacrifice bunt.
