Webb had one of her better performances of the post season with 22 points, nine rebounds and seven assists as the Lady Dragons won 62-47 to advance to the semifinals.
The Mountainburg Lady Dragons reached the Class 2A State semifinals after defeating Marked Tree 62-47 Monday night at Hampton.
The Lady Dragons (31-2) had a 35-24 lead at halftime, but Marked Tree battled back in the third quarter when Mountainburg tried to slow the pace of the game. Marked Tree cut the lead to 44-40. Mountainburg picked up the pace again in the fourth quarter to pull away for the win.
The Lady Dragons just played its five starters for the duration of the game and Tara Webb had one of her best games this post season. Webb had 22 points along with nine rebounds and seven assists. Kaylyn Moore paced Mountainburg with 29 points and Auburn Peters finished with seven points and nine rebounds.
Mountainburg faced Brinkley on Tuesday for the second semifinal game. Brinkley had defeated Cedar Ridge 58-48 on Monday. Marmaduke and Springhill squared off in the other semifinal contest.
