Mountainburg scored 20 points in the first quarter en route to a 52-38 win at Johnson County Westside on Wednesday.

It was a make-up game after the originally scheduled game was cancelled on Tuesday due to winter weather.

Mountainburg is supposed to host Decatur Friday, but additional snow and cold temperatures are expected to settle in the region.

Tara Webb, who has been averaging 14.4 points per game this season, had 19 to lead Mountainburg (20-2, 10-0). Kaylyn Moore added 16 points.

Auburn Peters was shy of a triple-double as she scored eight points, but led with 10 rebounds and seven assists.

Lonnie Campbell had 21 points in the Dragons’ 65-61 loss to Westside. Evan Merritt added 15 points for Mountainburg.

MULBERRY

Taylor Nagle had 10 points while Brittany Edwards and Logan Archer had nine and eight points respectively in the 38-32 win against Scranton.

Mulberry and Scranton were tied up 10-10 after the first quarter, but Mulberry started to pull way and was up 20-15 by halftime. Sam Cagle had six for the Lady YellowJackets.

Audie Stringer had 11 points and seven other players contributed, but the Rockets won 61-32.

The YelloJackets stayed close in the first half. Mulberry trailed 27-20 by halftime, but was limited to just two points in the third quarter as Scranton led 49-22 going into the fourth quarter.
