Van Buren rallied at the top of the sixth inning and held Har-Ber to just one more run to win Tuesday’s 7A/6A West Conference game 5-3.
Har-Ber led 2-1 through the first five innings before Van Buren broke out to take the lead.
Van Buren began the sixth by scoring on an error and both Destiny Moses and Baily Miles reached home on another play to give the Lady Pointers a 4-2 lead.
Ashton Sangster added a two-out home run in the seventh.
The Lady Pointers (11-1, 2-0) had seven hits with Sangster getting two, including her home run. Tori Stafford, Emilee Aaron, Moses, Miles and Austyn Deere each had a single hit.
Har-Ber rapped out five hits as Morgan Neal led the game with a 3-of-3 performance at the plate.
The Lady Pointers grabbed an early lead as Miles reached home on a wild pitch.
The Lady Wildcats tied the gme in the bottom of the second when Neal reached home on an error.
Har-Ber took the lead on a sacrafice fly by Tiffany Ray in the third. The Lady Wildcats added another run in the sixth on a RBI single by Misty Hickman.
Both teams stranded six runners on base.
Stafford grabbed the win going seven innings of work with just one earned run, three walks and six strikeouts.
Gracie Bogle took the loss with four earned runs, two walks and eight strikeouts.
