AUGUST 24 — Deadline to register for the fall T-ball (ages 3-5) and 6U coach’s pitch league in Van Buren. T-Ball is for both boys and girls and the 6U coach pitch softball league is for girls. All games will be held at the Field of Dreams on Saturdays (Sept. 7-Oct. 19). Cost is $35. Register on www.vanburenfastpitch.com or call, 479-208-1201.

AUGUST 24 — Deadline to register for the fall fastpitch softball league at the Field of Dreams. Leagues include 8U Machine Pitch, 10U Machine Pitch, 10U, 12U, 14U and 16U. There will be a doubleheader one night week (Sept. 3-Oct. 18). Team cost, $350. Register on www.vanburenfastpitch.com or call, 479-208-1201.

UAFS Camps

Camp applications for the following are available at the athletics administrative office (Stubblefield Center) or online at www.uafortsmithlions.com.

MEN’S BASKETBALL — Shooting camp for those entering grades 3-12, Aug. 1-2, 9 a.m.-noon each day. Cost is $60, includes T-shirt.

Events

July 20 — River Valley Roller Girls vs. Joplin, Mo., doubleheader at the Fort Smith Convention Center. Doors open at 4 p.m. and the games start at 5 p.m. Tickets are $12 at the door and $10 in advance (ages 10-under are admitted free).

Aug. 3 — Traditional Championship Wrestling brings Back to School Bash IV, a 12-card match, to the Fort Smith Convention Center with a 6:30 p.m. bell time. Tickets are on sale at Super Sav Drug in Van Buren and can be purchased online at www.tcwwrestling.com. The event will be taped and will feature a special tag team match with Matt Hardy and Americanos against The Empire. All matches are subject to change. VIP ticket holders will attend a special post-show meet and greet with free pizza and sodas.
