Track: Alma wins Airedale JH Relays

Both the Airedales and the Airedalettes won the Junior Airedale Relays on March 18 in Alma.

The Airedalettes dominated by scoring 193 points, 110 more than runner-up Chaffin.

The Airedales had 130 and the Chaffin Cougars were second with 119.

The VBFA finished fourth in the boys’ division and the Lady Pointers were fifth.

VBFA’s Caleb Christiansen won the 100-meter run (11.72 seconds), second in the high jump (5 feet, 4 inches) and fourth in the long jump (18-0).

Alma won five events in the boys’ division.

Drake Pendergraft placed first the 200-meter run (24.74), runner-up in the 100 (12.06) and eighth in the long jump (17-1.5).

Eli Howells grabbed first in the triple jump (38-4.5) and second in the 400-meter run (59.29).

Gavyn Cunningham placed first in the shot put (44-6).

Aiden Walker won 110-meter hurdles (17.84) and Cooper McGhee was second (18.91). Walker also took fourth in the 300-meter hurdles (49.43) and McGhee was fifth in the 300 hurdles (50.4).

Kyle Sentell won the pole vault (9-0) for Alma and Mark Brumley was runner-up (8-6).

The Airedalettes won nine events with Abby Ostrander won four of the events. Alma also placed a runner in the first seven spots of the 100-meter hurdles.

Abbye Ostrander took first in the 100-meter hurdles (16.57), the long jump (14-6) triple jump (30-2) and the pole vault (4-8).

Madison Holloway won the 200 (29.96).

Allie Freeman placed first in the 400-meter run (1:07.12) and eighth in the long jump (12-5).

Martie Shockley won the 300-meter hurdles (53.3) and nabbed second in the 100-meter hurdles (17.81).

Alma’s relay team won the 400 (55.1), the 1,600 (4 minutes, 38.21 seconds), and was third in the 3,200 (12:19.59).

Boys

VBFA

Crdell Landon grabbed second in the 1,600-meter run (5:35.45).

Taking fourth was Dawson Love in the 110 hurdles (19.34), and Austin Pester in the discus (111-5).

Gage Bowlin seized fifth in the 200 (24.95) and seventh in the 100 (12.29).

Kameron Collins was fifth in the 400 run (1:03.62) and third in the pole vault (8-6).

Trevor Lincks was sixth in the 110 hurdles (19.71) and seventh in the 300 hurdles (53.97).

Andy Christiansen placed sixth in the 1,600 (5:50.86). Marvin Rivera finished eighth in the 800 run (2:33.81) and Josh Aden was eighth in the discus (102-2).

In the relay events, VBFA was second in the 400 (48.17), fourth in the 3,200 (10:43.59), and fifth in the 1,600 (4;29.69).

Alma

Jed Dyer seized fourth in the high jump (5-0) and Isaac Posey was fifth (5-0). Dyer placed fifth in the long jump (17-8).

Caleb Lamproe was fourth in the triple jump (34-5) and David Mullins took fourth in the shot put (38-9).

Hunter Canfield finished eighth in the 100 (12.32). Lane Wiley was also eighth in the 1,600 (6:01.81).

Alma was second in the 3,200-meter relay (10:34.91) and third in the 400-meter relay (49.04).

Alma 8th Gold

Shane Rye took second in the shot put (41-9) and sixth in the discus (105-11).

Kade Wood placed third in the high jump (5-2).

Kegan Fusilier clinched fifth in both the 110-meter hurdles (19.54) and the 300 hurdles (48.66).

Donovan King was fifth in the long jump (18-0). Isaac Koch was fifth in the discus (110-6).

Christian Stahler nabbed sixth in the triple jump (33-8).

Trevor Huff grabbed seventh in the 800 run (2:33).

Migeal Marroquin seized eighth in the shot put (36-4).

The Gold team was fifth in the 400 relay (49.77).

Girls

VBFA

Ashley Beaver clinched second in the 200 (30.27) and fifth in the long jump (12-9).

Priya Gopal captured third in the 1,600 (6:57.58) and was sixth in the 800 (3:11.59).

Sydney Grizzle finished first in third in the shot put (33-6).

Alison Centeno seized fourth in the 800 (3:04.78) and sixth in the 1,600 (6;59.95).

Grace Murphy was also fourth in the shot put (30-8).

VBFA clinched fourth in the 3,200 (13:18.19).

Beverly Crose took sixth in the discus (58-7) and eighth in the shot put (25-8).

Alma

Alyssa Hoyle was second in the 400 (1:10.43), the triple jump (29-10) and in the high jump (4-4). Katie England was also second in the 800 (2:54.94).

Jordyn Collyar placed second in the 100-meter (13.62) and Addison Bell was third (13.96).

Emme Folkerts nabbed second in the shot put (33-10) and third in the discus (69-4)

Etana Reinschmidt captured third (6-1) in the pole vault.

Taylar Lee took third in the 300-meter hurdles (56.44) and fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (18.24).

In the 1,600-meter run, Heather Padilla was fourth (6:58.08) and Breanna Williams (6:59.05) was fifth.

Gabby Hill finished seventh in the shot put (26-8).

Alma Gold

Bailey Williams took third in the 400-meter dash (1:12.9). Scout Simpson and Abby Ross grabbed third (18.14) and fifth (18.61) respectively in the 100-meter hurdles.

Vernell Willis was third in the in the long jump (12-9.5).

Simpson was also second in the 300 hurdles (53.97). Ross placed fourth in the 300 (57.3).

Alma Green

Kassandra Aleck finished fourth in the discus (62-5).

Maddie Satterfield was sixth (18.63) and Krystle Baker was seventh (20.21) in the 100-meter dash.
