RUSSELLVILLE — Van Buren and Alma competed at the Cyclone Relays on Friday as both Pointers squads finished. The Airedales took 10th and the Lady Pointers were 14th.
Van Buren edged Alma by one point as Conway won the men’s division of the 16-team field.
Bryant took first in the women’s division of a 17-team field.
Victor Shores won the triple jump (44-0) and was fifth in high jump (6-0) and eighth in the long jump (20-5).
Tim Glover nabbed fourth in the 3,200 (10:23.48) and eighth in the 1,600 (4:44.13).
Van Buren was fourth in the 1,600-meter relays (3:26.82). The team was comprised of Wacey Connor, Anthony Gibbons, Jacob Eason and Victor Shores.
Jacob Eason seized fifth in the 300 hurdles (41.39).
Wacey Connor finished seventh in the 400 (52.47).
Anthony Gibbons was seventh in the 300 hurdles (41.59).
Tres Rowland finished second in the 300-meter hurdles (40.73).
Alma was also second in the 1,600-meter relays (3:26.82) with Rowland, Ethan Brewer, Alex Elam and Nick Wilbanks.
Brewer clinched third in the 400 (50.53) and eighth in the 100 (11.55).
The Airedales was third in the 3,200-meter relay (8:38.24). James Batura, Andrew Maness, Jamee Montoya and Will Mauldin comprised of the relay team.
Cody Passen placed fifth in the 110-meter hurdles (16.28) and the 300 hurdles (16.28).
Maria Santillana grabbed second in the shot put (35-4.25) and fifth in the discus (94-9).
The Lady Pointers seized third in the 1,600-meter relay (4:19.64). Brittney Brausell, Rebekah Gibbons, Kim Fajardo and Maria Valente each ran a leg of the relay.
Gibbons finished fourth (5:33.14) in the 1,600.
Shea Smith was also fourth in the high jump (4-10).
Valente clinched seventh in the 1,600 (5:44.23).
The 1,600 relay team clinched fifth (4:25.89) Holly Coombes, Renee Fletcher, Alex Short and Madison Edwards comprised of the the team.
Coombes took sixth in the 400 (1:06.01).
Alma’s 400-meter relay team (Courtney Dean, Fletcher, Coombes and Short) was sixth (53.17).
Short seized seventh in the 200 (27.62).
Caitlyn Morgan was seventh in the shot put (30-10.25).
Jennifer Dean, Hannah Alexander, Monika Montoya and Desarae Weller helped Alma finish the 3,200-relay in eighth (10:57.57).
Cadi Morrison tied for eighth in the pole vault (7-6).
